TAXUS Environment strengthens its commitment to sustainability in the chemical industry by joining the Association and Cluster of Chemical and Process Industries of the Principality of Asturias (IQPA). This integration, materialized yesterday April 29th, positions the national environmental consulting firm as a strategic agent within the Asturian industrial ecosystem, with the aim of accompanying the chemical sector in its transition towards more sustainable, innovative and committed to decarbonization models.
The accession comes at a key moment, when the Asturian chemical industry is intensifying its efforts to adapt to environmental requirements and move towards a circular economy, energy efficiency and responsible resource management. It is an industry that contributes 16% of the regional GDP, accounts for 41% of R&D expenditure of the total industry, and employs close to 50,000 people in the region.
IQPA, which is 25 years old, brings together some of the main companies in the chemical and process sector in Asturias, such as Bayer, DuPont, ArcelorMittal, Fertiberia, Corteva, Nippon Gases, Saint-Gobain, Eumedica Pharmaceuticals Industries, Chemastur, Asturquimia, Ence or Química del Nalón, and has recently joined TAXUS Medio Ambiente together with DSI Soluciones Industriales, GI Consultoría and Zabala Innovation. Since its foundation, it has been working to foster collaboration between industry, technology centers and administration, promoting innovation, sustainability and competitiveness in the sector.
Purposeful incorporation for the chemical industry
TAXUS Environment joins the IQPA with a clear vision: to accompany industrial companies in their adaptation to the new regulatory, environmental and social context. Its experience in environmental management, regulatory compliance, impact analysis and sustainability strategies brings added value to the cluster in an area that is increasingly important for the future of the sector.
“Our incorporation to the IQPA responds to a shared conviction: the chemical industry has a fundamental role in the transformation of Asturias. From TAXUS Environment we want to accompany companies on that path, with solutions and services that we have been developing throughout our more than 20 years of experience,” says Javier Granero, director of TAXUS Environment.

Jorge Álvarez, president of IQPA, states that “the incorporation of companies such as TAXUS Medio Ambiente into the IQPA Cluster will allow us to work transversally in different fields. The objective of the cluster is to share good practices from a technical point of view in order to move towards a more sustainable chemical industry”.
The incorporation of TAXUS Environment to the IQPA Cluster is a key reinforcement to move towards a more sustainable industry. The experience of the environmental consulting firm will provide a specialized perspective that will facilitate the development of innovative projects, the improvement of resource management and the integration of responsible practices within the sector.
