Laboratory and environmental genetics for data-driven decision making

At TAXUS we combine biological, physicochemical and genetic analyses to rigorously assess the status of water bodies and biodiversity. We integrate expert sampling, taxonomy with advanced microscopy, calculation of official indices (DMA) and environmental DNA technologies, barcoding, metabarcoding and population genetics. We deliver traceable and actionable results that support diagnoses, procedures and management plans.

What do we do in laboratory and environmental genetics?

We perform taxonomic sampling and analysis (phytoplankton, zooplankton, macroinvertebrates, macrophytes, diatoms, ichthyofauna), physicochemical characterization in situ and in the laboratory, calculation of ecological indices (rivers, reservoirs, coasts), non-invasive detection by environmental DNA (threatened and invasive), genetic identification (barcoding), massive biodiversity analysis (metabarcoding) and population genetics studies (SNPs/microsatellites). All this with standardized protocols, proprietary bioinformatics and delivery oriented to EIA, ecological monitoring and conservation.
