The Asturian coast is the regional subsystem most sensitive to the impacts of climate change, due to the abundance of coastal villages and the presence of areas of high ecological value. This determines the convenience of adopting strategies focused on reducing its vulnerability and increasing its resilience to the different expected climate scenarios.

The Government of the Principality of Asturias has resolved this challenge through the Climate Change Adaptation Plan for the Autonomous Ports.
