Connecting knowledge, business and territory: Taxus at the December key meetings

The month of December has been particularly intense in terms of professional meetings, technical conferences and events of reference for the business and institutional ecosystem. TAXUS MEDIO AMBIENTE has been present in different events that reinforce our commitment to sustainability, innovation, talent and collaboration as levers for the development of the territory.

The following are some of the most relevant meetings in which we have participated during the last weeks of the year.

XVII Annual Meeting of Members of Compromiso Asturias XXI

TAXUS MEDIO AMBIENTE, as a Corporate Partner of Compromiso Asturias XXI, was present at the XVII Annual Meeting of Partners, held on December 29th at the Luis Adaro Exhibition Center in Gijón/Xixón, a key event to reflect on the economic, social and business future of Asturias.

We were represented by José Luis Menéndez, Business Development Director, who highlighted the value of a meeting marked by messages such as unity, commitment and action. During the day, tribute was paid to Francisco Rodríguez, president and founder of Industrias Lácteas Asturianas (ILAS), whose speech was an example of leadership, humility and strategic vision.

The round table discussion brought together voices from the business, academic and institutional spheres, with reflections on innovation, talent attraction and opportunities to build a more prosperous and competitive Asturias. The meeting highlighted the importance of creating spaces for dialogue to share experiences and move forward together towards common goals.

The event was closed by the vice-president of the Government of the Principality of Asturias, Gimena Llamedo, and concluded with the words of the president of Compromiso Asturias XXI, Eduardo Sánchez Morrondo, who appealed to collective co-responsibility to move towards a more ambitious and cohesive Asturias.

Technical Seminar on Environmental Assessment Legislation in Autonomous Communities

Another of the month’s highlights was the technical conference ‘Environmental Assessment Legislation in Autonomous Communities’, which was held on December 2 and organized by the Spanish Association of Environmental Impact Assessment (AEEIA) with the sponsorship of MOEVE.

Javier Granero, director of TAXUS MEDIO AMBIENTE and regional member of AEEIA in Asturias, attended this meeting, this time as an assistant, with the aim of keeping up to date on regulatory developments and the different regional approaches to environmental assessment.

The event was attended by representatives of public agencies and entities of the sector, generating a space for technical analysis and sharing of experiences.

Attendance at these types of meetings reinforces our commitment to constantly update our knowledge and rigorous application of environmental regulations in the projects we develop.

December also saw the closing of the 5th edition of the ‘CEO Wanted’ program, an initiative promoted by CEEI Asturias with the support of the Regional Ministry of Science, Industry and Employment and developed in collaboration with RHO Group. The meeting, which took place on the 10th, highlighted the strategic role of management talent in the growth and consolidation of innovative projects in the Principality.

Javier Granero attended the conference, participating in an event that brought together nearly fifty people linked to the Asturian entrepreneurial ecosystem. In this call, 10 companies or projects and 10 CEO candidates have participated, and five business initiatives have been strengthened. Since its launching, the program has already strengthened 67 companies or projects, 65 CEO candidates and 33 companies, consolidating itself as a key tool to promote leadership, synergies and sustainable growth within the entrepreneurial fabric of Asturias.

Also worth mentioning is the conference ‘Despierta Pyme’, organized by the Oficina Acelera Pyme of COIIAS, held on December 18 at the Circus by Borja G. Finat space. The meeting was also attended by Granero, in an event that opted for a different format, away from traditional presentations and focused on collective reflection on entrepreneurship, digitization and entrepreneurial ecosystem in Asturias.

During the event, the dean of COIIAS, José Esteban Fernández, presented the progress achieved in recent years, highlighting that in the 2023-2025 period alone, 125 collective actions have been developed, with an impact on more than 4,500 attendees and a clear commitment to face-to-face and proximity.
