Currently, and due to the boom in renewable energies, the number of annual cycle inventories of avifauna and chiropterofauna that are carried out throughout the country is important.

This large amount of data is not publicly available, however, all this information can be a really valuable tool for the realization of more accurate collision estimates in wind farms in the envelope of a project in the pipeline. On the other hand, the non-standardization of the information collected can be a limitation when applying models that allow extrapolating the collision risk to wind farms in the envelope. The following is a methodological guide for the correct application of these models, identifying the associated problems and possible solutions.
