MEETING GLOBAL CHALLENGES
ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY
Technical assistance for the development of the European Week for Waste Prevention, coordinated in Asturias by COGERSA.
The European Week for Waste Reduction is a project led by the European Steering Committee (EDC), which promotes that during one week in November, hundreds of collective actions are developed simultaneously throughout Europe, with the aim of promoting the implementation of awareness actions about the reduction in the consumption of resources and proper waste management.
The TAXUS environmental education team coordinates, disseminates and executes this annual European project promoted by COGERSA in Asturias. One of its objectives is to raise awareness among Asturian society about waste prevention and circularity. The groups actively participate in it through their projects, full of actions committed to the environment in general and sustainable waste management in particular. The project is divided into different phases that TAXUS manages.
- Design phase relating all materials and activities to the annual theme of the Week.
- Dissemination phase of the project among the groups.
- Advisory and follow-up phase during project execution.
- Phase of evaluation of the best projects and sending the best candidates to Europe.
In 2021, the theme focused on the creation of small circular communities to contribute to a global circular economy.
